Dr. Mark Rosenberg appointed president of FIU

MIAMI (April 25, 2009) - The Florida International University Board of Trustees today selected Mark B. Rosenberg as the university’s new president. Rosenberg succeeds Modesto A. Maidique, who has led the university for almost 23 years.

Brick by brick: College of Engineering and Computing building park to honor alumni and friends

Alumni from the FIU College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) can leave their permanent mark at the school. The construction of a brick path with the names of alumni, staff, supporters and students is scheduled to start within the next month at the school’s 38-acre campus, located on West Flager Street near University Park.

FIU Professors Win Prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER Awards

Dr. Girma Bitsuamlak, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, won the award for his proposal of a groundbreaking project that will employ computer simulation to determine wind flow fields around buildings. He will receive a total of $400,219 for a five-year study.
